Event narrative

Snowfall totals ranged largely from around 6 to 8 across much of the zone. The highest snowfall report was from East Nantmeal Township with 10.5.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm brought widespread light to heavy snowfall accumulations across the region. The heaviest snowfall occurred across the southern Poconos with totals around a foot. A coating of snow also occurred all the way south into the Philadelphia urban corridor with amounts around 1 to 4. While total snowfall amounts were less than impressive in the urbanized metro of Philadelphia, heavy wet snow falling around the time of the morning rush hour resulted in slippery roadways and numerous traffic incidents.
