Dense Fog in the Central Willamette Valley contributed to deadly aircraft accident. A single engine airplane travelling from McMinnville to Independence crashed around 4:55 PM into a power pole just outside of the Independence Airport. The crash resulted in a local power outage, a small brushfire and the loss of all three people on board the airplane.
