Event narrative

Strong winds in the Sparta area downed power lines along Gaines Road, causing power outages in the area. Strongest winds measured in Sparta were about 40 mph. Damages are a rough estimate.

Wider weather episode

As a low-level jet strengthened across Middle Tennessee, surface winds strengthened in response starting during the afternoon of March 25, 2024 and into the early morning hours of March 26th. While measured winds were less than 50 mph, this did result in minor damage including downed power lines in White County and a downed tree in Maury County.
