The Blackfoot River Bridge had visibility at or below 1/4 mile for 3 hours at the RWIS site. 45 to 55 mph wind gusts were widespread throughout the Blackfoot Mountains the entire day. 3 to 5 inches of snow fell and the snow and blowing and drifting snow closed State Highway 34. The Bone COOP site measured 4 inches of snow. The Antelope Flats RWIS site carried visibility below 1/4 mile for 6 hours. State Highway 26 closed due to the blowing and drifting conditions.
Wider weather episode
A strong cold front moved through Idaho with snow, strong winds which caused blizzards in several zones and extensive travel problems. Many roads closed with wind gusts exceeding 50 mph in nearly all of southeast Idaho.
