A strong cold front brought a combination of snow and strong winds with gusts of 40 to 50 mph. Island Park COOP site measured 7 inches of snowfall. Idaho State Highway 47 was closed due to blowing and drifting snow from Ashton to Bear Gulch.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved through Idaho with snow, strong winds which caused blizzards in several zones and extensive travel problems. Many roads closed with wind gusts exceeding 50 mph in nearly all of southeast Idaho.
