Weak low pressure moved across the Carolinas, bringing light snow across portions of central Virginia into the Northern Neck on January 15. Snowfall totals ranged from one to three and a half inches. As the moisture aloft became shallow on the night of January 15 into January 16, snow transitioned to freezing rain and drizzle as well as freezing fog, ending on the afternoon of January 16.
