Event narrative

Widespread roadway flooding occurred in the tidal communities of Atlantic County. The flood waters affected vulnerable buildings. The tide gauge on the oceanfront at Atlantic City reached 7.09 feet MLLW, and the tide gauge at Margate reached 6.68 feet MLLW.

Wider weather episode

Strong onshore flow with a potent storm moving up the NJ/Delaware coast resulted in water piling up along the New Jersey coast and within the back bays. Water also moved up the Delaware Bay, which also resulted in tidal flooding within the Delaware River.
