Event narrative

Multiple instances of downed trees were reported by trained spotters, including a large tree down in Livingston, NJ at 917 AM Local Standard Time and another large tree down at 1030 AM Local Standard Time on JFK Parkway near the Short Hills Mall in Millburn, NJ, closing the road. In addition, a trained spotter reported a downed pole at the intersection of Eagle Rock Avenue and Lincoln Street in Roseland, NJ at 611 AM Local Standard Time.

High winds occurred across the area during the daytime hours of March 11, 2024 with a tight pressure gradient in place as strong low pressure near the coast of northern New England slowly shifted northeast.
