Event narrative

Strong southerly winds began ramping up the evening of the February 12 along the north side of Isabel Pass. The strongest winds occurred from just after noon through the early evening hours of the 13th. The OP5 mesonet station reported a peak gust of 85 mph.

Wider weather episode

A front moving to the north over the Alaska Range brought high winds near passes along the north side of the range.
