Event narrative

Generally 4 to 8 inches of snow fell across the area, mainly around the town of Steamboat Springs. 1 to 2 inches fell to the north and southern parts of the zone.

Wider weather episode

The second in a series of disturbances quickly dropped into the Four Corners region, providing moderate snowfall and blowing snow due to strong winds favoring the southern and central Colorado mountains. The northern Park range and Upper Yampa River Basin continued to see persistent snowfall under this arctic air mass due to a favored northwest orographic flow.
