Event narrative

A trained spotter 4 miles east southeast of Pilot Rock measured 6 inches of new snow in 24 hours ending at 2212 on Jan. 12th. ODOT measured 4 inches of new snow in 6 hours ending at 2055 on Jan. 13th.

Wider weather episode

A series of winter systems starting with a strong arctic front followed by an upper level trough brought heavy snow accumulations and very cold temperatures across the mountains and many lower elevation locations across northeast Oregon and southeast Washington between Jan. 10th and the 14th.
