At 7:22 PM Ashtabula County regional airport measured a wind gust of 61 MPH. Conneaut Lighthouse measured a 64 MPH wind gust at 7:48 PM. Trees and power-lines were downed, knocking out power to over 5000 customers in the county.

Wider weather episode

Strong low pressure lifted out of the lower Mississippi Valley and into the Great Lakes January 12th and 13th. Strong southeasterly winds ahead of the low caused damage to parts of northern Ohio during the evening of January 12th, particularly near the Lake Erie shoreline from Cleveland points northeast. Strong westerly winds behind the low caused additional damage to parts of northern Ohio on January 13th.
