Event narrative

The southeastern half of the zone remained in Extreme(D3) drought while the northwest remained in Severe(D2) drought. The Cooperative Observer in Cliff recorded 1.93 inches of precipitation which was 0.84 inches above normal.

Wider weather episode

Above normal precipitation for much of southern New Mexico helped ease the drought conditions to at least Grant, Sierra and Otero counties.
