Event narrative

Dense fog and smoke combined to reduce visibility to near-zero in parts of the area on the morning of February 21st. A 20-vehicle crash occurred near the intersection of US Highway 84 and Ben Pitts Road, including multiple 18-wheeler trucks and a loaded log truck which spilled its contents across the roadway. The crash resulted in 21 injuries and a road closure which lasted for several hours.
