Event narrative

Two Snotels (Lone Mountain and Shower Falls) estimated new snow in excess of a foot, including a peak estimate of 15 inches (Shower Falls). Additionally, Big Sky Resort reported several observations of greater than 9 inches, including a 14 inch report at Lookout Ridge.

Wider weather episode

An upper level trough swinging SE out of Canada brought a period of snow to the Northern Rockies. Most snow was minor, given warm temperatures prior to the event (Most snow melted on roads). The mountains south of Bozeman were the 'winner', getting up to 15 inches of snow.
