A high wind event at Skagway saw southerly wind gusts in excess of 60 mph at the boat harbor and the airport throughout the day on the 22nd. A peak gust of 68 mph was measured at 136pm at the airport.

Wider weather episode

Persistent southerly winds in Skagway were enhanced, reaching high wind criteria, as a front developed as it crossed overhead. Some accumulating and drifting snow also occurred near White Pass along the Klondike Highway.
