Scotts Bluff Emergency Manager and KNEB station manager reported blizzard conditions in Banner County for well over 3 hours. Widespread power outages reported across Banner County from power poles being blown down. Wind gusts were in excess of 50 mph during this time as well from the Charlie Mesonet site 5 miles northeast of Harrisburg.

Wider weather episode

Blizzard conditions were observed across the southern Nebraska Panhandle the evening of 6 April through the morning of 7 April. Widespread power outages from blown down and ice ladened power lines reported across the southern Nebraska Panhandle with over 2000 power poles blown down. Emergency Managers reported blizzard conditions during the event. Total estimated cost of the combination of strong winds and blizzard conditions was 7.6 million dollars.
