Scotts Bluff Emergency Manager and KNEB station manager reported blizzard conditions in Kimball County for well over 3 hours. KNEB Station Manager reported Highway 71 closed between the town of Kimball and Gering due to blizzard conditions. Wind gusts were in excess of 50 mph on the Kimball AWOS with sustained winds of 35 mph or stronger during this time. Widespread power outages were reported across Kimball County.

Blizzard conditions were observed across the southern Nebraska Panhandle the evening of 6 April through the morning of 7 April. Widespread power outages from blown down and ice ladened power lines reported across the southern Nebraska Panhandle with over 2000 power poles blown down. Emergency Managers reported blizzard conditions during the event. Total estimated cost of the combination of strong winds and blizzard conditions was 7.6 million dollars.
