A weather station outside of Citico recorded a 62 mph non-thunderstorm wind gust.

Wider weather episode

A strong upper level weather system generated strong cross mountain flow, inducing mountain waves on the leeside of the mountains. These winds brought strong measured gusts to the mountains and foothills of East Tennessee.
