A spotter observed hail up to nickel size in Jesup. Pea size hail covered the ground.

Convection formed along the leading edge of a surface front across SE GA in the late afternoon as an upper-level trough passed overhead. Unseasonably cold temperatures in the mid-levels combined with MLCAPE under enough westerly shear produced a few stronger storms that produced sub-severe hail and gusty winds.
