Event narrative

A peak wind gust of 63 mph was recorded at the White Pass RWIS during the morning of March 31st. Wind gusts as high as 58 mph were recorded at the Skagway Airport ASOS. A large tree was reported by law enforcement as down along Dyea Road, resulting in the road being blocked.

Wider weather episode

A front moving across the panhandle and southern Yukon encouraged the development of a localized lee-side trough across Lynn Canal, leading to high winds for the Klondike Highway.
