A surface trough lingered over and near the eastern Great Lakes during the late morning through early afternoon of the 7th as lake-effect rain showers streamed eastward from relatively-warm Lake Erie amidst a westerly mean low-level flow of sufficiently-cold/moist air and sufficient lake-induced instability. A waterspout formed along the low-level convergence/horizontal wind shear zone that accompanied a broken band of lake-effect rain showers that impacted northwest PA and far-northeast OH.
