Event narrative
The Toksook Bay AWOS recorded visibility predominantly at a half mile with 25 to 35 mph sustained winds in snow and blowing snow between 7:45 AM and 11 AM AKST 2/5. Similar conditions were likely occurring along other portions of the Kuskokwim Delta Coast, but observations were not available.
Wider weather episode
A storm force Bering Sea low pushed a front up into the Southwest Alaska coast between 2/4 and 2/5. Temperatures remained cold enough for precipitation to fall as snow, and strong southeasterly winds caused areas of significant falling and blowing snow along portions of the coast as the frontal system moved through.
