The Hoonah AWOS station at the airport measured temperatures at or below 32 degrees between midnight and 6am with a minimum of 28 degrees the morning of the 1st. The Hoonah COOP in town also recorded a minimum temperature of 32 degrees that morning.

Wider weather episode

Clearing skies allowed temperatures to dip to 28 degrees over portions of the inner channels in the early morning hours of May 1st.
