A cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms moved eastward from the Deep South Texas Brush Country and into Kenedy and Willacy County during the pre-dawn hours of March 16th. Wind gusts to 55 knots were recorded at the Rincon Del San Jose Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) site, near the land cut in central Kenedy County over Laguna Madre.
