A brief high wind gust of 59 mph was observed at the Clayton Municipal Airport.

An upper level disturbance moved across the central Rockies during the day increasing upper-level winds across New Mexico. Deep daytime mixing allowed these stronger winds aloft to mix down to the surface resulting in a brief high wind gust at the Clayton Municipal Airport. Winds tapered off in the evening hours around sunset as the upper-level disturbance exited east.
