Downed wires were reported just south of Leeton. Power outages were reported in the area.

Wider weather episode

Around 6 AM on May 8th, storms initiated in far eastern Kansas just west of the Missouri state line. These storms eventually crossed into Missouri, producing severe hail over Kansas City and the northlands as well as a supercell that brought hail, heavy rain, and strong wind gusts to Cass, Johnson, and Pettis Counties.
