Hail up to penny-size about 2-miles SSE of Bay View.

Wider weather episode

A weak surface trough axis drifted southward across Lake Erie and to the southern lakeshore during the afternoon through early evening of the 9th. Scattered multicell thunderstorms developed and persisted generally eastward along the surface trough axis during the early evening amidst weak MUCAPE and moderate effective bulk shear. One of the thunderstorms produced hail as large as pennies in Erie County, OH.
