Event narrative

The month started out with the southeast in Extreme(D3) drought and Severe(D2) drought over the northwest. By the end of the month, improvements were noted across the north where conditions improved to Moderate(D1) drought. The Cliff Cooperative Observer reported 1.43 inches of precipitation which was 0.80 inches above normal.

Wider weather episode

Above normal precipitation for areas of Grant and Sierra counties improved drought conditions there. Little to no precipitation further south kept Severe(D2) to Extreme(D3) drought going through the month.
