Event narrative

Severe(D2) drought conditions remained in place throughout the month of March. The Cloudcroft Cooperative Observer reported 1.05 inches of precipitation which was 0.40 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

Above normal precipitation for areas of Grant and Sierra counties improved drought conditions there. Little to no precipitation further south kept Severe(D2) to Extreme(D3) drought going through the month.
