Event narrative
Extreme(D3) drought conditions remained across the south and Severe(D2) across the north during the month of March. The Cooperative Observer in Elk reported 0.95 inches of precipitation which was 0.44 inches above normal.
Wider weather episode
Above normal precipitation for areas of Grant and Sierra counties improved drought conditions there. Little to no precipitation further south kept Severe(D2) to Extreme(D3) drought going through the month.
