A peak gust of 71 mph was recorded 2 miles west-southwest of High Rolls.
The wider storm
A broad trough was moving through the western United States with a 175 knot jet rounding the base of it along the International Border. A surface low with a strong cold front pushed through the Borderland during the morning hours and brought wind gusts up to 93 mph to the area.
