Wider weather episode
At the surface, northern OH and the western-half of Lake Erie resided in the warm sector during the early afternoon through early evening of the 27th as a low moved northeastward from Lake Superior toward far-southern James Bay and became occluded. The low's attendant warm front drifted eastward across eastern Lake Erie and far-western PA as the low's attendant cold front drifted eastward across the western Great Lakes region. Ahead of the cold front, a cluster of multicell thunderstorms persisted eastward along the northwest OH shore and generated a gale-force peak convective wind gust at the Huron Light C-MAN Station. These storms encountered weak to moderate MUCAPE and moderate magnitudes of DCAPE and effective bulk shear, respectively.
