A wildfire near Cartago jumped Highway 395, closing the highway between mile markers 35 and 39, destroyed four structures, and injured one firefighter.

Strong low pressure digging down the West Coast brought strong to briefly high winds to the Owens Valley. The winds helped spread a short-lived wildfire.
