Event narrative

A swath of large hail up to baseball size fell across portions of east central Monroe County. The large hail was reported in New Design and Hecker, as well as rural areas nearby.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved through the region during the afternoon and evening hours of March 14th. There were widespread reports of large hail as the storms moved through, some up to 3 inches in diameter. There were also several reports of damaging winds.
