Event narrative

Several large tree limbs downed by thunderstorm wind gusts.

Wider weather episode

A decaying Mesoscale Convective Vortex (MCV) pushed north into Indiana during the late afternoon hours of May 24th and interacted with a line of thunderstorms moving across Illinois. Initially these storms produced pockets of damaging winds with widespread sub-severe winds. Later into the evening, outflow boundaries from these storms initiated one larger storm that produced isolated large hail across the southern Indianapolis metro.
