The NWS office in Morehead City, NC relayed a report from a trained spotter of penny sized hail on Ollifftown Road.

Wider weather episode

Isolated strong thunderstorms developed ahead of a passing cold front in the late evening hours across portions of southeast Georgia. A few of these thunderstorms became strong enough to produce a few instances of hail.
