Event narrative

Snowfall began during the morning of the 24th and continued into the morning of the 25th across Iron County. Snowfall over the first 20 hours or so amounted to around 6 to 8 inches with snowfall totals of 9-11 inches by the time snow ended. A high report of 11.3 inches was reported in Gile.

Wider weather episode

A slow moving spring snowstorm moved across the region on March 24th into the 25th. Much of the precipitation fell as snow but there were a few short periods of wintry mix at times as temperatures warmed to right around the freezing mark. Widespread snowfall totals of 6 to 12 inches were reported across the region with higher amounts to almost 18 inches in portions of Douglas and Bayfield counties.
