D2 Severe Drought conditions persisted across very small sliver of the far northwest corner of the county for most of the month before above normal precipitation during the latter half of the month led to the complete removal of D2 Severe Drought across the county with the update on the 30th. Precipitation for the month was around 0.25 to 0.75 inches above normal with much of it falling during the last few weeks of the month.
Wider weather episode
D2 Severe Drought conditions persisted across parts of Koochiching, Itasca, Cass, Crow Wing and Aitkin counties to begin April. Rainfall over the latter half of the month led to a reduction in the area of D2 Severe Drought with the update on the 30th leading to the removal of D2 Severe Drought across Crow Wing and Aitkin counties. Precipitation for the month ended up around 0.25-0.75 inches above normal, highest across the southern portion of the region.
