High winds impacted the Santa Ana Mountains on March 14. Peak wind gusts were generally in the 45-60 mph range. Some notable higher gusts include 80 mph at the Fremont Canyon RAWS site, 71 mph at Pleasants Peak, and 63 mph at Trabuco Canyon 2 (SCE098).

Wider weather episode

An upper level low pressure system brought precipitation and thunderstorm impacts to Southern California March 14th through the 16th. The main weather impacts were due to flooding and mountain snow, but a significant amount of lightning was also observed.
