Event narrative

No change was noted in drought conditions with Extreme(D3) drought continuing over the south while improving to Moderate(D1) drought across the north. The Cooperative Observer at Mountain Park reported 0.54 inches of precipitation which was 0.05 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

A slightly wetter than normal April helped to improve conditions in the far southwest, but elsewhere drought conditions remained consistent from the end of March.
