Event narrative
Severe(D2) drought continued throughout the month of April. The Cloudcroft Cooperative Observer reported 0.83 inches of precipitation which was 0.02 inches below normal.
Wider weather episode
A slightly wetter than normal April helped to improve conditions in the far southwest, but elsewhere drought conditions remained consistent from the end of March.
