Near McClure, a tree was blown down along Carter Stanley Highway. Another tree was downed along Doe Branch in Haysi.

Wider weather episode

Strong thunderstorms that had a history of damaging wind gusts on the afternoon of May 26th passed through southwest Virginia and continued to create tree damage in its path. This was especially the case in Dickenson County, where downed trees were observed in the towns of McClure and Clintwood. These storms continued to track eastward through Virginia that evening.
