A volunteer observer reported 3.5 of snow accumulation near Decorah.

A multiple day precipitation event from April 1st through April 3rd provided heavy snowfall in parts of northeast Iowa. Above freezing temperatures resulted in rainfall initially across northeast Iowa until colder air moved in late on April 1st, providing a mix of sleet, rain, and freezing rain. These near freezing temperatures persisted into April 3rd in select spots providing the highly variable snowfall accumulations. While some counties did not record any snowfall accumulation, a maximum of 7.0 was reported in Waukon (Allamakee County) and near Lansing (Allamakee County).
