A man in his mid 70s visiting from out of state was caught in a rip current. This occurred at 1006 East Highway 98 near Jade East Towers in Destin.

Strong rip currents developed at area beaches and resulted a death of man in his mid 70s in Destin. Another person died at Langdon Beach in the Gulf Islands National Seashore.
