Observers snowfall reports over an approximate 24-hour period included 9 inches at Bergland Dam, and 4 inches each at six miles north of Greenland and at Paulding. The wet, heavy snow combined with north winds gusting near 40 mph at times caused hazardous travel, sporadic power outages and closed schools throughout the county on the 3rd.

A powerful storm system tracking through the Great Lakes brought moderate to heavy wet snow and strong north to northeast winds to Upper Michigan from the evening of the 2nd into the morning of the 4th.
