Strong thunderstorm winds knocked down trees and wires.

Showers and thunderstorms developed ahead of an approaching cold front during the afternoon and evening hours. Given the unstable environment, some storms became severe producing damaging wind gusts, mainly in the Finger Lakes region. A storm that moved through Sullivan County produced 1 inch hail.
