Mesonet site in Bayside within a quarter mile of Copano Bay measured a wind gust of 40 mph.
Wider weather episode
An approaching cold front led to a couple rounds of strong marine thunderstorms across the northwestern Gulf of Mexico during the morning hours of the 16th and then again during the morning and evening hours of the 17th. A strong supercell passed over north of Port Aransas on the morning of the 21st.
