Wind gust was measured at a personal weather station via WeatherFlow. Station was located along Sound Drive in the Bogue Sound.

The wider storm

Scattered thunderstorms developed across the Coastal Plain during the afternoon on May Tenth out ahead of an eastward moving cold front. Some of these storms became strong to severe in nature as they entered into the waters bringing damaging wind gusts and small hail to the area. The strongest storms were found across the waters south of Oregon Inlet.
