A line of convection fired along and ahead of a trough axis slipping SE across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan Saturday afternoon in the presence of sufficient instability amid a seasonably cold air mass. A couple stronger cells pulsed up and then back down again, producing primarily pea to half-inch size hail and brief heavy rain. One cell produced up to quarter size hail near Brimley around 6pm EDT.
